Tell us about yourself and the sport you compete in:
Wheelchair rugby is the only full contact wheelchair sport. It is played on a basketball court. You can have up to 12 players in your squad. The objective of the game is to score over the opposition’s goal line with the ball under control. Each player has a classification ranging from 0.5, being least functional to 3.5 being most functional. You can only have 4 players on court at any one time adding up to no more than 8 points. I played off a 1.5 classification.
How did you become involved in your sport?
I heard about wheelchair rugby while I was going through my rehabilitation. After I was discharged from hospital I went along & gave it a go & was hooked instantly.
